Most of us have enjoyed watching Australian actor Daniel MacPherson over the years. We may remember him best as Joel Samuels on the hit television show Neighbors and in his latest role as TV Host favorite on various Reality TV shows. Most recently, we’ve enjoyed his commentary on Dancing with the Stars where he served as co-host from 2008 to 2014. But what some of us may not know is he’s also a fitness enthusiast and an avid triathlete. McPherson has participated in triathlons in Hawaii, Australia and China and has shared his passion for fitness and health over the years. Growing up overweight and spending more time on the sidelines than in the game, Daniel used his experiences in his youth to motivate him later in life, embracing a new lifestyle to become the fit and trim TV star we see today. It’s not surprising, then, that Daniel’s example has served as inspiration for his kid sister Brodie McPherson with her own lifelong weight battle. In an interview with Woman’s Day in 2015, Brodie shared with readers the healthy competition she and her brother share. The positive sibling rivalry, she says, pushes her to follow his lead and challenge herself to go beyond the limits of her normal expectations, to surpass them reach even higher.
Like her brother, Brodie McPherson was overweight growing up and struggled throughout her life to gain some control over her health and fitness level. But in recent years, she seems to have done just that! After a remarkable transformation losing a whopping 130 pounds, Brodie has turned to the social media airwaves to share her story. Along with workouts, Pilates, and Yoga, she’s embraced her new changes in lifestyle and developed healthier eating and fitness habits to help her achieve her goal. Brodie still credits her brother with helping to motivate her along the way..
She’s also turned her experience into inspiration for others by sharing what has helped her in her journey towards transformation. Her daily struggles to overcome her self consciousness, how easy it is to make excuses not to get out of bed in the morning and go exercise are some of the experiences many of us who struggle with weight can relate to. What’s most inspiring about Brodie’s story, though, is what’s at the core of her transformation and where she finds her motivation to keep moving forward. For Brodie, it seems, this wasn’t just about losing weight and getting fit. It was about undergoing a life affirming transformation to realign herself with what’s truly important. The journey through life and what we make of it is what matters most, overcoming fears and insecurities, embracing life’s challenges and continuing to grow and change and take on new things, becoming the person we’ve always imagined ourselves to be and learning to love and accept who we are along the way. That, Brodie says, is far more important to her than what number pops up on the scale in the morning..
.~ Words to live by, Brodie Macpherson. Thanks for sharing your story and keeping us all inspired!
